Squeeze the Day Citrus Shaker with Roni Johnson | Rinea
Rinea Foiled Paper Citrus Shaker Card by Roni Johnson
Are you feelin' the heat? I thought it would be fun to cool things off with this refreshing citrus themed shaker card.... O.k. to be honest - it didn't start out to be a shaker but you'll see how I turn a happy accident into this shaker card.

Step 1 - Stamp the citrus background frame on the following using VersaFine Clair Nocturne on the cardstock and StazOn Pigment Piano Black ink on the Foiled Papers - Marigold/Gold Glossy, Gold/Gold Glossy, Emerald/Gold Glossy, Blush/Gold Glossy and Jade/Gold Glossy.

Step 2 - Use a sponge dauber and ink the entire cardstock panel using VersaFine Clair Paradise ink.

Step 3 - Designate a color of foiled paper for each style of citrus fruit; begin the process of fussy cutting and adhering each layer of the image to the cardstock. I began with the very bottom layer of leaves and worked my way forward in the design.  This is a bit time consuming but worth it in the end.

Continue fussy cutting and layering on the fruits and leaves working your way around the perimeter of the panel.

Step 4 - Once you have adhered the final piece of citrus, trim away any excess paper from the edge of the panel.

Step 5 - Stamp the sentiment in the center of the card using VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink.

!!!OH NO!!!
When I went to apply adhesive to the back of the panel to mount it on my card blank I transferred ink from the edge of the card blank to the face of my citrus panel. After all that work!!!

Step 6 - After I calmed down a bit I decided that I just was not going to start all over again so I fussy cut the center out of the citrus panel.

Step 7 - Use a sponge dauber to apply Paradise VersaFine Clair ink to a white cardstock panel.

Step 8 - Position citrus card panel over the blue panel; stamp the sentiment so it is centered on the back panel.
Step 9 - Affix a clear window to the back of the citrus panel; use double-stick foam tape to create a box for the sequins and attach the stamped panel to the foam tape covering up the sequins creating the shaker portion of the card.
Step 10 - Glue a sheet of Ebony/Ebony Starstruck Foiled Paper to a card blank, add a Sapphire/Sapphire Starstruck Foiled Paper mat to the card and mount the citrus shaker centered on to the card.
Step 11 - Embellish the card with a few dots of Wedding Dress irRESISTible Pico Embellisher.
