Make a Fun Piece of Art to Inspire
By Roni Johnson
I love creating art to give as gifts but sometimes you just want to make something for yourself. This is one such project. It looks so pretty hanging on my fresh white walls and it's so very inspiring to "Create Art".
Directions:
Step 1 - Gather up your supplies - you'll need a 12x12 sheet of Mocha/Mocha Starstruck foiled paper, a wood or chipboard palette form (the example is from Creative Embellishments), a couple of old paint brushes and a selection of Glossy foiled papers in a rainbow of colors.
Step 2 - Glue the Mocha/Mocha Starstruck foiled paper to the palette form and trim away excess paper.
Step 3 - Sand all of the trimmed edges with sandpaper for a smooth finish.
Step 4 - Cut 3x3" squares of Ruby/Gold Glossy, Marigold/Gold Glossy, Gold/Gold Glossy, Emerald/Gold Glossy, Cobalt/Gold Glossy, Violet/Gold Glossy, Mocha/Gold Glossy, Ebony/Gold Glossy and Arctic/Gold Glossy foiled papers.
Step 5 - Wad each square into a nice ball, try to keep the colored side exposed as much as possible.
Step 6 - Diecut 1-2" tall letters spelling out the desired sentiment, in this case "Create Art".
Step 7 - Arrange the various elements on the palette to determine placement. Glue each piece to the palette using a hot glue gun. Glue a hanger on the back.
