It's Pumpkin Time by Roni

Hi Everyone!  Roni here today.  It's looking a lot like fall in Indiana, trees are turning lovely colors, the leaves are starting to fall and the mornings are crisp and clean. That also means it's pumpkin time which is just what I've got for you today. My 3 D pumpkin that is a perfect accent for Halloween and beyond.  It would make a gorgeous centerpiece for a Thanksgiving table too!

I fashioned this pumpkin after the vintage honeycomb type decorations of years gone past. This pumpkin with its leaves and vines measures 7" tall and approximately 12" across. I used the Haunted Foiled Paper Variety Pack as well as Mocha/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and Mocha/Mocha Starstruck Foiled Paper.

Let's get started...

Draw a simple pumpkin shape on a sturdy chipboard or oil board to create a reusable pattern. I also made a pattern for a separate stem.

Trace the pumpkin pattern onto 10 - 6"x 12" pieces of Marigold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper, Marigold/Marigold Starstruck Foiled Paper or any combination of the two. Trim the excess paper from the pumpkins and set aside.

Trace 10 (ten) stems onto Mocha/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper, Mocha/Mocha Starstruck Foiled Paper or any combination of the two; trim away the excess paper.

Adhere one stem to each pumpkin.

Fold each pumpkin in half.

Glue the folded pumpkins back to back until all ten have been adhered together.

Cut (2) pumpkin halves from chipboard.

Adhere one to the top of the pumpkin pile and one to the bottom of the pumpkin pile. This will provide stability when the pumpkin is being displayed and protect it while it is stored.

The two chipboard backed pumpkin sides can be secured together with a paper clip when being displayed.

Free-hand cut three pumpkin leaves from Emerald/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper, or Emerald/Emerald Starstruck Foiled paper. Gather the leaves in the center to add a bit of dimension.

Cut three strips of matching foiled paper 1/2" x 6" long.

Curl the paper around a quilling tool, pencil, paintbrush handle, etc.

These will become pumpkin vines to attach to each leaf.

You now have a lovely pumpkin ready to grace your home and welcome Autumn in style.
