How To Create a Floral Magnetic Mixed Media Canvas with Jenn DuBell

Hello everyone! Jenn here today sharing a pretty magnetic heart canvas piece I created using gorgeous foiled paper from Rinea!

Begin by prepping the canvas with a coat of clear gesso and let it dry. While waiting for it to dry die cut the background using die of your choice. I have used Sizzix Tim Holtz Organic with Jade/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper. Using Jade Starstruck Foiled Paper, I have several stems using the Sizzix Tim Holtz Garden greens die.

Next the back of the background die cut is dotted with adhesive as shown below.

The next step is to adhere it onto the canvas. I positioned mine to the side knowing id be adding layers of flowers and paper embellishments on the other side.

After wrapping the excess over to the back I added another layer of clear gesso to act as a sealant. Once the die cut was pressed down evenly I wiped with a clean baby wipe to remove any excess gesso.

Next, I added all of my embellishments placing foam adhesive squares in between the layers to add lots of dimension.

To finish my project, I added beads, glitter and a fun sentiment!
