HOW TO CREATE A FALL SLIMLINE CARD
by DIANA SOLING
Hi everyone! Diana here with a fun fall slimline card. I had a lot of fun creating this card for you!
Materials used to create this card:
Joy Clair: Coffee and Jesus Digital Set,
Joy Clair: Rustic Occasions Sentiments
Rinea: Ruby/Ruby red starstruck foiled paper,
Rinea: Mocha/Mocha starstruck foiled paper
CTMH Ink: espresso, scarlet, nectarine
Altenew: permanent black ink
Michaels: orange hemp & leaves
Pinkfresh Studios: slim ornate banner dies
Let's jump in!
I started with choosing to make a slimline. I chose to use a slim line die set from Pinkfresh Studios. Instead of using it as a layer I decided to use the main die as my card base.
Pick out your card base color and cut it to 7"x8 1/2". Fold it at 3 1/2" to create the fold.
Once folded lay our base onto your die cut platform. Lay the largest die over it making sure the cut line on the top and the folded edge hangs off the cardstock base so as to not cut our fold off.
Stamp your base if you desire. I used the rustic occasions stamp set to give a border around the outer edge. I like how it is slightly visible and ties in all the colors used on the card.
Choose your first layer. I used Rinea Mocha/Mocha starstruck foiled paper. Place the foiled paper onto your die cut platform and lay the next size down die over it and run it through. Do this again on the next layer down to create your second layer. I used Rinea Ruby/Rubh starstruck foiled paper.
Choose your image/images and start coloring it/them in with your desired medium. I used my alcohol markers for this card.
Using a 1 1/4" square punch, punch out three squares to color blend. I used two colors for each square. I ended up only really needing to as my main focal point covered up the middle one.
You are now ready to start adhering all of your elements down. I added a couple of leaves to the top to give just a bit more color and the orange jute.
Thanks for spending a bit of time with me. I hope you try your had at a slimline!!
