Emboss a Winter Wonderland Card with Rinea Foiled Paper by Susie Bentz
Hello! Susie here today and we are going to create a winter wonderland card! This is basically a paper piecing technique that uses an embossing folder instead of a stamp! (so be prepared to completely re-evaluate your embossing folder stash!)
I love this festive Christmas tree embossing folder and knew it would be beautiful made up with Rinea foiled paper! I started by embossing 3 pieces of white cardstock to create 3 cards.
Next I embossed 3 pieces of foiled paper: Lavender/Gold, Sapphire/Gold, and Sapphire/Sapphire Starstruck.
Using scissors I carefully trimmed out the trees from each of the pieces of foiled paper.
I decided I wanted to leave one of the 4 trees on each card a plain white. I chose 3 of the foiled paper trees - mixing the colors and finishes a bit - and glued them in the corresponding place on the first card front. (I just put a little bit of glue on the raised trees and the foiled paper trees just "clicked" into place!)
To create a real "winter wonderland" I needed to add some snowmen! I stamped and colored the 3 super cute characters from the Joy Clair Cozy Snowman Wishes stamp set. I added Starstruck Stickles on the scarves and hats and set them aside to dry.
I stamped and die cut the sentiments from the same stamp set. I also die cut foiled paper to create mats. This one was cut from the Lavender/Lavender Starstruck foiled paper.
The mat for the second card was cut from Merlot/Gold Glossy foiled paper.
And see how I mixed up the tree colors in the background?
The third card has a completely different background of trees!
