Distress and Rinea Foiled Paper Grungy Card by Jenn DuBell

Distress and Rinea Foiled Paper Grungy Card by Jenn DuBell | Rinea

Hello everyone! Jenn here sharing how I made this fun grungy greeting card using Rinea Foiled Papers!!

For my card I have used:

Ebony/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper
Turquoise/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper

Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Spray Salvaged Patina
Tim Holtz Distress Spray Cracklin Campfire
Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Glaze Salvaged Patina
Tim Holtz Texture fade Typewriter
Tim Holtz Thinlits Dies Brushtrokes #2
Finnabair Wax White Pearl
Dina Wakley Gloss Spray White
Teal cardstock
Black cardstock
Ivory cardstock
Stamps
Rust String
Cardboard scraps

To create this card I started with a black card base 5X7. I added a teal cardstock matte cut to 4 7/8x6 7/8.

To create the embossed card front I started with a sheet of Ebony/Gold Glossy foiled paper and embossed it with the typewriter folder. I layed it in my splat box and spritzed with TH Distress Oxide in Salvaged Patina Spray followed by the embossing glaze. This was set with a heat tool and left to dry. WOW! cool effect huh?

Because I used a deep grooved embossing folder it actually cracked and distressed the foiled paper some which is great for the look. To make the letters pop even more I added some white pearl wax rubbed on the raised areas with my finger.

For the floral portion I did some stamping on ivory cardstock along with some Distress staining. I die cut the flowers from this paper and the Turquoise Foiled Paper. The die cut pieces were all splattered with Distress sprays.

The flowers were then assembled and added to my card front as the focal point. These were adhered using foam adhesive for some to add dimension. I added a bit more splatter adding the white gloss spray for a bit more grunge.

I used teal cardstock as a matte for my black card followed by the embossed panel. The panel was adhered using cardboard scrap to add dimension and to add the brown under removed letters.

To finish my card I added some rust colored string and a sentiment chippie from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology collection.
