Art Journaling Using A Cricut by Guest Designer Colleen Hollis
Before I get into the project details, this project is based upon my love for the Texas areas just hit by Hurricane Harvey. I was raised in Spring and Humble. My grandfather lost his home to 4′ of rushing water from Halls Bayou off Tidwell and Highway 59 (for those of you familiar with these areas). I had to watch a world away in Quito, Ecuador as my childhood home was washed away. The entire area of shopping for groceries at Kroger, clothing at Weiner’s (yes, that was a real clothing store name back in the day) and fun at Deerbrook Mall…it is all washed away and a heap of mud today. So, if there is nothing else I can do here and now today, I want to make sure to document this event and let my family and friends know that I am thinking about them.
This art journal project is available for free so that anyone who would like to make a gift for their family or friends who suffered from Hurricane Harvey will also have easy access. My heart also goes out to the Rinea company as Texas is their home, too. Please show your support and click here to visit their website so that they can continue to assist with the relief efforts in their home state.
Now on to the art journal details with my tutorial video below….
In this project, I’m using the Glossy Silver/Gold paper by Rinea. They have a variety of colors available. Another favorite combo they sent me was the Glossy Copper/Copper So, with these combinations, I have a variety of metals to work with.
