Mixed Media Altered Travel Journal by Steph

I started my travel journal by painting the front cover with gesso. While still wet, I adhered the Marigold Starstruck Foiled Paper to the front cover. I also applied some more gesso randomly around the front cover, covering part of the foil. This not only assured a good seal, but it also gave me a base to which I could add assorted inks.

Using assorted travel themed stencils with modeling paste, I added texture around the journal. Rinea Foils are strong enough to withstand an assortment of techniques.

Once the modeling paste dried, I spritzed assorted colors of spray inks on the journal. Using a paper towel, I blotted up excess ink. For more dimension, I stamped a script stamp around the edges. I also stamped several travel phrases around the journal.

Finally, I cut Ebony Gold/Glossy Foiled Paper to fit chipboard squares which were added to the cover.
